A: We write on excess & surplus lines basis in 46 states (not approved in CT, DE and IA) and on an admitted basis in Oklahoma.
What type of coverage does ASI Healthcare offer to long-term care facilities?
A: We insure against claims of professional liability, general liability, employee benefits liability and more.
Does ASI Healthcare offer prior acts coverage?
A: We offer prior acts coverage for eligible risks.
What type of coverage trigger does ASI Healthcare's policy have?
A: We offer an "incident sensitive" form.
What is ASI's obligation under the ASI Healthcare policy?
A: Our typical coverage form is written as "Pay on Behalf" and obligates us to a "Duty to Defend" your client.
Does ASI Healthcare offer "defense outside"?
A: We can offer defense outside of the limits for eligible risks; our typical product has defense provided inside the limits.
Does ASI Healthcare provide coverage for staff vs. resident type abuse?
A: Where we intend to cover sexual abuse, we do it by endorsement. We do not subscribe to "silence" as being a prudent approach for such a volatile exposure.
Do ASI MedSolutions' products include claim services?
A: We provide bundled, top-notch, claims administration via experienced healthcare liability adjusters. There is no added cost for these services.
Does ASI Healthcare offer a consent to settle policy form?
A: Limited consent to settle can be endorsed on eligible risks.
Does ASI Healthcare offer policy improvements to current insureds?
A: Our Liberalization Clause means your client will reap the benefits of changes to our policy form that afford enhanced coverage.
Does ASI Healthcare offer any kind of dividend program?
A: While ASI Healthcare does not offer dividend programs at this time, qualifying risks may be offered a renewal credit endorsement that is applied to subsequent renewals.
How does ASI Healthcare define an insured under its policy?
A: We utilize a broad "insured" definition that:
■ Will cover your medical directors, whether employed or contracted, for their administrative duties.
■ Will cover your volunteers and nursing staff for their duties on your behalf.
How does ASI Healthcare's policy differ from others and what makes the coverage superior?
A: The MedSolutions policy for long-term care facilities not only provides all the bells and whistles that most other policies provide, but it was one of the very first to offer Rights of Residents coverage. This particular coverage is intended to be very broad and is defined as:
■ Any right granted to a nursing home "resident" under any state law regulating your business as a resident health facility; and/or,
■ The rights of "residents" as included in the United States Department of Health and Welfare regulations governing participation of,
■ Intermediate Care Facilities and Skilled Nursing Facilities, regardless of whether your facility is subject to those regulations.
